I love this NPR commentary from Dave Weinberger about the etiquette of not keeping up with other people's blogs, and feeling guilty about it when they say, "Hey, why are you asking about how my new car is working out -- didn't you see my post from last week?"
It's not that I never read your blog -- I read it occasionally, intermittently, from time to time. It might be once a week, though it's probably more like once a month, or three months. And I skim to see what's important in your life, and, well, to see if you've mentioned my blog. But I still get a sense of what's going on with you. I just don't want to be quizzed on it!
I have a question, as the brain is complecated and nature is practical, could it not be posible for a long term memory to use a part of another memory that has a similar part to it, already in long term memory chain, this would make wondering from a point or losing track as the firing could divert.
Kind regards.
Lance Webb.

I've actually been caught doing this to a couple of my friends, but only because we are both bloggers and for a while it was our only way to keep up with each other since we were living far apart (and were too lazy to pick up the phone or email). I always kick myself when I do this, though.

Just yesterday I heard a story from a friend who realized that her Flickr account has become a blog without her even knowing it -- that she has friends who check out her photos often enough to be able to ask, for example, how her trip to Austin was. Another guy told me that a friend of his used his Flickr account to correctly deduce that he was looking for new office space in Washington DC, something he thought was a secret.
